It was a quiet day on Wednesday as the Jets held a lightly attended optional practice at hockey for all centre. Today the team is expected to focus on special teams as they continue to refine the power play and penalty kill. We did get some good insight on the PK from assistant coach Dean Chynoweth who spoke following yesterday’s skate.
Skate news:
According to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press defenceman Logan Stanley, who had been wearing a non-contact uniform the last few days, is wearing a normal jersey for today’s practice. Wieber also provides the lines and D pairs this morning.
Lines and D pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Namestnikov-Ehlers
Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton
Barron-Kupari-Iafallo
Gustafsson
Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Fleury-Miller
Stanley-Coghlan
Hellebuyck
Comrie
No conditioning loan for Logan Stanley:
Head coach Scott Arniel told media after skate that he isn’t planning on an AHL conditioning stint (which the player has to agree to) for Logan Stanley like the organization did with Rasmus Kupari and David Gustafsson last season. He feels Stanley’s conditioning can get back up to speed during his practice time with Winnipeg.
