Following their win over the Habs last night in Montreal the Jets are in Toronto where they will practice ahead of tomorrow night’s re-match with the Leafs.  The Jets will be looking for revenge following the 6-3 loss to the Leafs in Winnipeg last week.

Skate News:

As per Ken Wiebe of The Athletic Winnipeg a few faces missing from today’s skate including Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler, Luca Sbisa and Josh Morrissey.  Ken did add that Dmitry Kulikov is wearing a regular uniform today.

Dmitry Kulikov

Patrik Laine

Coach Maurice:  Update on the four players who didn’t skate.  Any concern with Scheifele after taking Laine shot?  Shorter practice due to three games in four nights?  Goalie plan?  Has Dmitry Kulikov timeline moved up?  If Kulikov is ready would he slide back into the pairing with Pionk?  Update on David Gustafsson? How will the next two games test his team?  How would he evaluate the first half of Pionk’s season?  Has Pionk exceeded his expectations?  Will the next two games test their ability to play to their identity?  Have the Jets been guilty to playing to other teams styles?  His thoughts on the Connor McDavid goal?  The slow building chemistry of the Jets second line.  Committed to that line for the push?  Like the work of his 4th line?

Health News:

Jets bench boss Paul Maurice was asked about the four players (Mark Scheifele, Blake Wheeler, Luca Sbisa and Josh Morrissey) missing from today’s skate and indicated that all four will skate tomorrow and he expects them to play against Toronto.  With respect to Dmitry Kulikov, much like it was with Andrew Copp when he switched from non-contact to a regular jersey, he wants to see how he comes in the next day before committing to using him in the lineup.

Starting Goalie:

Connor Hellebuyck will start against the Leafs.

Up Next:

The Jets will face the Leafs tomorrow night at 6 PM CT.  Be sure to keep it locked to for the AM Papers which go live at 7 AM.
