Following yesterday’s 3-2 OT loss to the Wild the Jets are in Montreal to continue their four-game road trip.  They will face off against three Eastern Conference teams starting with the Habs on Monday night.

Skate News:

As per Mitchell Clinton of Jets TV forward Andrew Copp has ditched his yellow, non-contact uniform for a blue one and is taking regular shifts with Adam Lowry and Mathieu Perreault.  Mitch also indicated that Blake Wheeler and Luca Sbisa are not skating today and that Dmitry Kulikov remains in a non-contact jersey.

Audio:

Gabriel Bourque spoke about the team mindset today, what he expects from the Habs, challenges of Eastern Conference games and the Jets PK in the last game.

Connor Hellebuyck was asked about his workload this season, trend towards goalies playing less than 60 games in a season, the impact the wholesale changes on D have had and putting the game in St. Paul behind them.

Andrew Copp on how it felt to get rid of the non-contact uniform, how it went today, excitement to get back with his line and the mindset to engage in contact the first time you get rid of the non-contact jersey.

Coach Maurice:  How do they focus on today and forget the way yesterday’s game concluded?  What’s the approach to Montreal?  Will Andrew Copp be a player tomorrow?  Considering the changeover in their D how satisfied is he with what the new group has done?   Adjustments the forwards have made.  Is it the perfect timing to face the Habs?  On Hellebuyck’s workload.  Excited at the thought of getting Copp back on the 3rd line?

Health Update:

With Andrew Copp wearing a regular uniform coach Maurice was asked if he would be a player against the Habs.  He indicated “Well we never take a guy off IR a day before he needs to but he was wearing the right colour sweater and he got through practice today so he needs to come to the rink tomorrow feeling as good as he’s leaving today.”
