The Jets suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Kings last night to end their five game homestand and now have an overall record of 5-6-0.  The Jets have a couple of days of practice scheduled including today before they head to Regina to take part in the Heritage Classic.

Pre-Skate news:

The Jets claimed left shooting defenceman Luca Sbisa off waivers.

Skate news:

With the Jets claiming Sbisa there were questions about the health of Tucker Poolman who was held out of the game last night due to a minor injury but according to Mitchell Clinton of Jets TV the defenceman from East Grand Forks, Minnesota is a participant in today’s practice.  Mitch did indicate that both Adam Lowry and David Gustafsson are not skating today.

Worth Noting:

Also from Mitchell Clinton “Perreault and Ehlers have a bit of an awkward collision near the end of practice. Ehlers is getting looked at on the bench.”

Line Rushes:

Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Little-Laine
Copp-Perreault-Roslovic

“Fourth line is a smorgasbord. Keep in mind that there is no Lowry and no Gustafsson.” says Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun.  He provided the top three lines for the Jets at today’s practice.

Coach Maurice:  Update on Adam Lowry and David Gustafsson.  Why did his club add Luca Sbisa?  What does he believe Sbisa’s best asset is to help this team?  Does Sbisa need to practice before he gets into a game?  Reflections on last night’s game.  Is there a concern about confidence with the team?  On Morrissey “trying harder” on simple plays.  On Poolman & Bitetto and the pickup of Sbisa how does that impact Heinola?  More on the decision regarding Heinola.  Is there anything from his prep for the 2016 outdoor game that he will use for this one?  More on the Heritage Classic.  On communication with Mathieu Perreault.

Update on Lowry & Gustafsson:

Coach Maurice was asked about the two missing players (David Gustafsson and Adam Lowry) from practice today and indicated “Gustafsson had to get a passport issue taken care of.  Lows got some tests but we expect him to be fine and in the lineup.”.

Up Next:

The Jets were originally scheduled to have a second day of practice tomorrow after a fairly condensed schedule to start the season but it looks like they may be changing that up.  Be sure to keep it locked to illegalcurve.com for the AM Papers which go live at 7 AM.
