Today’s report should probably be called the Winnipeg Jets (non) Practice Report since the team didn’t hit the ice today in downtown Winnipeg following their 4-3 win over the Oilers last night in Edmonton.  The Jets ended 2018 with the best record in the Western Conference at 25-12-2.

Coach Maurice:  Looking back at last night’s game, his thoughts on what the D core was able to do without Byfuglien in the lineup?  What did the performance by Brendan Lemieux do for his stock?  On Lemieux tipping pucks in practice.  His reflections on 2018 and what sticks out for him.

Heritage Classic:

The Jets will be the home team in the Heritage Classic next season in Regina, Saskatchewan when they welcome the Calgary Flames to Mosaic Stadium.  The NHL made the announcement during the 2nd intermission of the Winter Classic being played between the Hawks and Bruins at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana.

Up Next:

The Jets face each other in a battle of skills in the annual Skills Competition tomorrow night at Bell MTS Place.  As always I will be in attendance with our annual live blog which gets underway around 6:45 pm and the Skills themselves will be live around 7 pm. so be sure to keep it locked to illegalcurve.com.  Of course you should start your Wednesday with the AM Papers which go live at 7 AM.
