Health Update:
Coach Maurice on Dustin Byfuglien’s status: “He’ll take morning skate tomorrow. That will be the first time he has been on the ice in a few days and we’ll just be real cautious with it going forward. It’s day-to-day.” He further indicated that Byfuglien would not play tomorrow against the Canucks.
When asked if the injury to Byfuglien occurred during the Calgary game coach Maurice indicated “it was kinda a slow burn on that one. It just kinda got worse. He had it before the Calgary game but it didn’t get better for sure.”.
There was a follow up question on Byfuglien with respect to Byfuglien’s off day activity (fishing) and the coach indicated “He had treatment. Did what he needed to do. Soft tissue issue. None at all. Just a little bit jealous. No issue at all”.
When asked about Matt Hendricks who it was originally thought could potentially be ready to go for the game against Vancouver, coach Maurice said “Skated this morning. We’ll slowly work that one back. He’s still day-to-day, I don’t have him in tomorrow.”.

Coach Maurice: Health update on Byfuglien. Starting goalie tomorrow? More on Byfuglien injury. Status of Matt Hendricks? Is he riding the hot hand of Hellebuyck? What are the keys to following up from the win over Edmonton? Same lineup? Does he have an issue with a player fishing on a day off? Good day for the players yesterday?
