The second round of the NHL playoffs got underway last night with the Leafs defeating the Panthers while both the Caps/Canes and Oilers/Knights get underway this evening. The Jets and Stars are fortunate as they won’t start until tomorrow night which will give their teams a few extra days of healing which isn’t a bad thing given some of the players both these teams are currently missing.
For Winnipeg it’s top line centre Mark Scheifele and top pairing Dman Josh Morrissey while Dallas got past Colorado without Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen although Stars head coach Pete DeBoer said yesterday he expects both back for round 2. We will be watching today’s optional Jets practice to see if we get some similar news on the injured duo for Winnipeg or we may have to wait to see if head coach Scott Arniel provides an update.
Skate news:
We saw before skate got underway both Logan Stanley and Josh Morrissey in yellow, non-contact jerseys.
They were joined by Mark Scheifele who was also skating in a non-contact uniform.
Once skate got underway both Stanley and Morrissey left the ice.

Health updates:
With respect to all three players skating in yellow, non-contact jerseys they are all considered day-to-day as per Scott Arniel. He wanted to see how they wake up tomorrow. He said today was first day on the ice for Morrissey and Stanley while Scheifele has been skating including doing so yesterday. He reluctantly conceded they would be considered game-time decisions.
