Following last night’s stunning 3-2 loss which saw the St.Louis Blues win it with 15 seconds left in the 3rd period to take a 3-2 series lead, the Jets held an optional skate today before they depart for St.Louis.
Skate Notes:
As per Jason Bell of the Winnipeg Free Press the only players skating who are expected to play tomorrow night are Connor, Perreault, Roslovic, Hayes and Kulikov as well as the usual scratches.

Coach Maurice: How would he summarize this series so far? On the message to the team. Status of Nikolaj Ehlers. What does he impart on his team heading into an elimination game? Any comparison to where they sit now compared to where they were heading into game three? What is the biggest challenge – mental/emotional bounce back or the strategic challenge of the Blues? Is there a matchup war going on? Are there more minor tweaks (lineup changes) coming? Drawing on past experience to help with the present circumstances. Did the Jets change the way they played when the game was tied at 2? On how the Jets will react to being a desperate team. On the officiating. What hindered the Jets power play? Did he figure out how Hayes pulled that puck out of the net? Does Blake Wheeler need to shoot more?

Health Update:
Nikolaj Ehlers left last night’s game very late in the 3rd period after blocking a shot. When asked about his availability for tomorrow’s game Jets coach Paul Maurice indicated “He feels good today. I’ll list him as probable. He won’t skate today, we probably won’t put him out for the morning, but he feels good.”
