Winnipeg Jets place Mason Appleton on injured reserve

Mason Appleton broke a bone in his foot on Friday ahead of the Jets practice as they prepared for Saturday’s Heritage Classic in Regina.  It was a tough injury for the third year pro who has yet to register a point this season in nine games.

Last year Appleton split the season between the Jets and Moose playing 36 games for the big club while contributing three goals and seven assists in his first taste of NHL action.

Coach Maurice indicated over the weekend that it will be a month before anyone should be asking about the status of the Wisconsin product.

Today the team announced they have placed Appleton on IR.  The Jets also announced that they have recalled Logan Shaw from the Moose.
