Winnipeg Jets move Colin Miller to IR; Isaak Phillips recalled from the Moose

Latest on the veteran D man.

He came out before the 2nd period got underway to test things out but went back to the room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

After the game concluded head coach Scott Arniel indicated he would need evaluation on Monday and then he’d have an update.

As per the NHL media page Miller was moved to IR. According to the media site it also appears that the Jets have recalled Isaak Phillips up to the big club.

In 33 games with the Moose, Phillips has three goals and 10 assists. He’s a solid (6’3) left-shot defender who the organization acquired last season from the Hawks in a trade for prospect Dmitry Kuzmin (2021 3rd). He is in the first year of a two-year deal he signed with the Jets back in July. He can make a good first pass and isn’t afraid to rush the puck. He also has 56 NHL games under his belt in Chicago after he was drafted by them in 2020 (5th round).

He had a tough 2024-25 campaign as he got used to being part of a new organization but he has been very solid for Manitoba this season and has paired well with prospect Elias Salomonsson (14 games) or Kale Clague (12 games).

We won’t get an update until after morning skate on Tuesday about Miller.
