Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | May 11, 2026

A daily roundup of Jets, Moose coverage — all the pro hockey news that matters in Manitoba and beyond.

Note: The Jets are done. The Moose are done. We will still try to get you anything relevant to the pro hockey clubs of Manitoba during the next little bit. Of course the big focus is on the 2026 NHL Draft for which the Jets hold the 8th overall selection. We will be spending quite a bit of time learning about the players who could hear their name get called by Winnipeg at the end of June.

Global News: Canada earns 6-1 exhibition hockey win over France. Over in Switzerland they got things going ahead of the World Championship which saw Mark Scheifele and Gabriel Vilardi contributing 1G 2A each as they played on a line alongside Macklin Celebrini.

The Athletic: Early NHL free agent big board: The top 20 UFA targets to watch this offseason. (Paywall). Not exactly a star studded list of players and how many of his 20 are even ones who might give Winnipeg a shot?
