Note: The Jets lost a game they could ill afford to lose last night as they hosted the Avalanche who took it 3-2 which wrapped up a two-game set in Winnipeg. They are scheduled to practice today before they fly off to Colorado to conclude this home and home with the Avs which kicks off four games on the road. Given Morgan Barron was placed into concussion protocol after his tilt with Josh Manson might there be a recall today (emergency or otherwise) as the Jets only have 12 healthy forwards? Stay tuned to find out.
Note II: Speaking of the Moose they will be in action this evening in Belleville as they look to end their three-game slide. Will college free agent signee Lucas Wahlin play his first game as a pro? Uncertain but we do know that puck drop is at 6 PM CT. Stay tuned for the post-game recap.
Note III: The OHL playoffs began last night. It was a trio of primary assists for Jets prospect Kevin He (2024 4th) who helped his Flint club roll to a big 8-1 win in game 1 of their first round series in the OHL playoffs. Over in Peterborough, Jets prospect Kieron Walton (2024 6th) had a couple of shots but his Petes fell 1-0 in game 1 of their series with North Bay.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Nate was great in the third, Jets lose 3-2 to the Avs. We got accused of gushing about the Avs during last night’s post-game show but it really is clear why they are ranked as the top team in the NHL.

Winnipeg Free Press: Good effort earns Jets nothing against MacKinnon and Avalanche. (Paywall). Moral victories are useless at this point in the season.
Winnipeg Free Press: Vilardi on course for career season. (Paywall). He is just a point back of matching his career high and last night represented the most games he’s played (72) in one season. While he may try to represent it’s business as usual the reality is he is setting new highs for himself.
The Denver Post: MacKinnon inches closer to 50-goal mark as Avalanche defeat Jets 3-2. Get insight into the game from a writer that covers the Avs.
NHL.com: MacKinnon scores twice in 3rd, Avalanche hold off Jets to extend Central lead. Darrin provides you with thoughts from both game.
