Note: We learned on Saturday after the Jets hit the ice for practice that they would be without Vlad Namestnikov for the near future as he is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury although the news was better as it pertains to Mark Scheifele who appears to be a game-time decision. No morning skate for Winnipeg but stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 3 PM CST.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and San Jose, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 5:40 PM CST.
Note III: As good as the Moose did in the first game of the road trip when they faced the toughest team in the AHL, they didn’t fare too well this evening against a much less structured (when compared to the Griffins) Admirals team. While Brayden Yager scored a beauty goal and Tyson Empey finished the game with a Gordie Howe Hattrick,
Note IV: In the OHL last night a pair of Jets prospects went head-to-head with Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) and his Saginaw club up against Kieron Walton (2024 6th) and Peterborough. Cloutier finished the game with one goal (a wicked wrister) while Walton got an assist which got him to the 80 point plateau for the second straight season. In the WHL it was Manitoban Owen Martin who had one goal and three assists to continue his heater in a win for Spokane.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Fleury makes his return against the San Jose Sharks. Given the nature of his injury I didn’t anticipate Haydn Fleury being the first defenceman back in the lineup but Colin Miller and Neal Pionk (who suffered a new injury as he was set to return) are both still out.
Winnipeg Free Press: Next man up. (Paywall). This is why it is imperative to not take your foot off the gas when playing in the AHL.

Illegal Curve Hockey: Saturday Show. Nearly two hours of Jets talk which was sandwiched between the Ducks and Sharks games. We spent plenty of time discussing the trade market as it pertains to Winnipeg.
