Note: The Jets took Sunday off after a disheartening loss to the Wings on Saturday night. They will hit the ice today for a practice which should be interesting after head coach Scott Arniel’s comments after the game. With the team heading out on the road expect at least one, likely two recalls from the Moose. Stay tuned for the Practice Report.
Note II: The AHL club of Manitoba didn’t disappoint yesterday in their re-match with the AHL-leading Griffins. They opened the scoring, fell behind and then two Jets prospects tied it up and won the game with just 27 seconds left on the clock. Danny Zhilkin tied things up approaching midpoint of final frame with a sneaky backhand followed by Brad Lambert somehow getting this puck to the back of the net with time winding down. It meant Manitoba handed Grand Rapids their first regulation loss on the road with the 3-2 victory.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Cole Koepke’s goal snaps streak of futility. The joy in joyland concluded after this goal but they did at least break their streak of periods without a 5 on 5 goal.
