Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Jan 22, 2026

Note: The Jets took off Wednesday following a 3-1 win over the Blues the night prior. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 10:30 AM CST so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

This headline made me think of the 80s movie Trading Places when the Duke brothers hold onto the frozen concentrated orange juice futures contracts for too long and then are yelling “sell sell sell” to no avail. The next few weeks will sort out exactly what type of position Winnipeg will be in when the trade deadline comes around.

Global News: Winnipeg Jets need to extend Logan Stanley’s stay with the team. If the Jets are going to extend him it has to be done before the trade deadline. If they are not going to retain him then they have to trade him as his value has never been higher.
