Note: We will have fresh Jets content today. Despite the fact that the Olympic break is ongoing, most of the players are back in Winnipeg and will be hitting the ice at 2 PM CST to start to prepare for the remaining 25 games they’ll play in 51 days once the Olympic break concludes. We will hopefully get some health updates on the trio of injured defencemen as well as all the latest news. Check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose looked like they were gonna sweep the Wranglers on Sunday after they built themselves a 2-0 lead on goals by Ville Heinola (assisted by Gustafsson, see goal here) and David Gustafsson (assisted by Heinola, see goal here) but they could not hold the lead. They gave up their first PP goal against in seven games (had gone 17/17 before they did) and despite heroics by goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis, were unable to hold the lead allowing Calgary to tie it late in the 3rd. Both teams had a chance to win it in overtime but it would go to a shootout with the visitors scoring the only goal which gave them the 3-2 SO comeback victory. Manitoba will practice today so check back for the Practice Report.
Note III: Pair of Jets prospects had an impact on their respective team’s games yesterday in the OHL. Kevin He (2024 4th) continues his goal scoring hot streak with another goal for Flint. He’s up to nine straight games with a goal (14 goals total during the streak). Meanwhile, Kieron Walton (2024 6th) was held off the scoresheet for the second straight game in regulation but he did get the shootout game-winning goal.
