Note: With Connor Hellebuyck’s trade request now out in the open, attention turns to what comes next and whether the Jets can find the right deal. As always, stay tuned for the latest developments.

Jets news:

The Athletic: Connor Hellebuyck trade fits: 8 teams that could make a deal with the Jets. (Paywall). Now that the news is out there, folks around the hockey world are trying to figure out who makes the most sense as a trade partner. As I’ve said previously I cannot see a deal materializing between Vegas and Winnipeg. I never considered Columbus but still don’t think they are a fit. Dallas is a wild thought but don’t see it happening. The other five suggestions (Buffalo, Carolina, Utah, New Jersey and San Jose) all could work. But then again GMKC sometimes finds some random team that nobody is expecting.

Buffalo News: Connor Hellebuyck’s playoff record should make Sabres walk away. (Paywall). Judging by the headline, methinks Mike Harrington would prefer the Sabres pass on acquiring the three-time Vezina Trophy winner.
