Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Apr 2, 2026

Note: The Jets travelled on Wednesday from Chicago to Dallas as they look to keep their momentum going with a monumental test this evening when they face the Stars. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 11:30 AM CT, so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Dallas, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CT.

Note III: The Moose also travelled yesterday as they returned from their four-game road trip which saw them win their final two contests including an impressive 5-1 victory over the Marlies in Toronto. They are scheduled to practice today as they get ready for a big test when the best team in the west arrives for a pair of games including an afternoon matinee on Friday. Stay tuned for the Practice Report.

Note IV: After receiving a game misconduct in the last Flint victory, Jets prospect Kevin He (2024 4th) was scheduled to be back in action but he was suspended by the OHL for Game 4.
However, his Firebirds didn’t need him as they wrapped up their series with a four-game sweep which saw them outscore the Attack 35-3. Out west, Manitoban Owen Martin (2025 3rd) and his Spokane club extended their series as they won their game and he scored a shorthanded goal.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Pressure? What pressure? Jets so close to playoffs they can almost taste it. Path got a little more complicated with both the Kings and Sharks winning last night.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets ‘no quit’ mentality good enough for post-season berth striking distance. (Paywall). Sure looks like it could come down to the end of the season.
