Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers: Today’s Hockey Headlines | Apr 15, 2026

Note: The Jets left Utah with another loss as they concluded the road portion of the regular season with a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Mammoth. Today is a travel day as they return home for the final game of the regular season tomorrow night when they host the Sharks.

Note II: The Moose used yesterday as a travel day as they left for Chicago where they will begin the final road portion of their regular season. Unlike their parent club they do have something to play for as they could finish as high as 3rd place if they can pick up some wins over the next three games. It all starts this evening against a Wolves team they would face in the 2nd round if they can get into third place in the Central. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT.

Note III: Pair of Jets prospects were supposed to be in action last night but only one was as Edison Engle (2025 6th) and his juggernaut Brantford team had their game postponed due to flooding while Kevin He (2024 4th) and his Flint squad lost their third straight game to Windsor to fall to 0-3 in their second round series. He may be Moose bound sooner rather than later if his Firebirds cannot get this turned around against the Spitfires.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Make that 46 losses in a Jets season gone off the rails. As I’ve said previously we all expected this team to take a step back from what they did last season but not to this degree.

Winnipeg Sun: Season to forget: Jets Cup window slams shut. The graphic they showed on the broadcast yesterday summed things up nicely. It’s not just one area where this team has failed. It’s all across the board. Offensively, defensively, goaltending, special teams.
