Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Where’s their heart at home?  Having sat through almost every game since the Jets return the MTS Centre seems to have lost some of the edge it had in season one.  Perhaps fans were resigned to missing the playoffs but the crowd just didn’t seem as into it this season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Enstrom glum again this year.  Considering he choose to not play for Sweden at the Olympics (although he was not guaranteed a spot) so he could help this team get to the playoffs it is understandable why he wouldn’t be very happy.  Article also talks about Kitchton’s IceCaps nomination and the team awards.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Bag it for training camp.  No rest for the wicked as coach Maurice gave the players a preview of what next season might be like.  The Jets bench boss spoke about the need to improve overall team fitness.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Striving to make a good impression.  Plenty of players trying to crack the lineup and have had the opportunity with all the injuries the Jets have suffered.

Winnipeg Sun:  Maurice sends message with old-fashioned bag skate.  No question who is guiding this ship.  Whether coach Maurice will be captaining it next season is still up for debate but he is clearly trying to set a tone.

Winnipeg Sun:  Canadian NHL teams in sorry state with only one of seven teams in the playoffs.  Paul looks at the woeful play of the Canadian teams this season.

CBC:  5 Things to watch as Jets host Bruins in home finale.  Jeff takes a look at five topics of interest in advance of tonight’s action including: 1) Beantown battle 2) Practice makes perfect 3) Not so home sweet home 4) Where is all began (for Hutchinson) and 5) Rask’s stock rising.

Sportsnet:  Will the Jets draft model be worthwhile?  Mark Spector looks at whether the long term prospect of “winning through the draft” can be successful here in Winnipeg and whether fans would stay loyal to that longer term prospect.

TSN 1290 Winnipeg:  The Rona Roundtable (audio).  TSN Hockey Analyst Mike Johnson discusses the Winnipeg Jets and their final practice where they were skated hard by Paul Maurice.

Illegal Curve:  Jets Three Awards.  Prior to the start of the game the Jets will be handing out some hardware.

IceCaps news:

The Telegram:  IceCaps let one slip away vs. Bulldogs.  A team never likes to give up a two goal lead, especially when you have that lead in the 3rd period.  Good news for St. John’s is they keep picking up points as they continue to progress for the playoffs.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets call-ups looking forward to rockin’ on the Rock in the AHL playoffs.  You have to think that the experience these players have gained playing with the parent club will serve them well as they get ready for the grind of a potentially long playoff run.

Bruins news:

NESN:  Dennis Seidenberg skated, ‘Not Even Close’ to B’s return.  Who knows what might be if the Bruins go deep into the playoffs.
