Winnipeg Free Press: Veteran Thorburn soaking up hero’s role. It isn’t often that he gets to play that role so I’m sure his teammates were excited to let the veteran bask in the glory.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets grind out ugly road win. The Jets continue to roll and are off to a great start to this four game road trip. While it wasn’t pretty they took the points and will move on to face former Southeast Division foe Washington on Thursday night. Ed also writes about Trouba’s creativity and Pavs vs. Montoya.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets brave the storm. It wasn’t pretty but at the end of the day the Jets will take the two points and move on to the next target as coach Maurice has this team believing. It was an unlikely game winning goal scorer last night but Chris Thorburn put home a nice pass by young Jacob Trouba.
Winnipeg Sun: Kudos for Trouba. As I watched the play develop with just over a minute to go I remember thinking “what is he doing?” but clearly the kid’s confidence is justified because he made a great play to put the game on his stick and help get his team the win. Following the game coach Maurice said this “Great confidence in a young man to want to make the play that decides the game. Not sit back in a tie game”.
