Note: During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives. If you’d like to help the Illegal Curve team as we raise money (so far $3500.00+) and awareness you are welcome to do so; Dave, Ezra, Drew, #5 Mark Stuart and #44 Zach Bogosian.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Kosmachuk hot and cold. After a torrid pace in October, his goal scoring has slowed in November but he still leads his OHL team in scoring.
TSN: Winnipeg’s Keane Classic provides a taste of the NHL. With all the hockey being played in Winnipeg last week it was almost enough to make you forget the lockout…almost.
The Telegram: IceCaps keep doing the splits. No time to dwell on the loss this past weekend as they have a date with the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Northern Colorado 5: Eagles Week In Review. Taking a look back at the week that was and ahead to what the Jets ECHL franchise can expect.
Illegal Curve: Goals for Dreams highlights. Some pictures, player audio and videos from Saturday’s charity game which brought together the NHLPA players and local law enforcement.
CBA news:
Winnipeg Free Press: NHL commissioner discusses lockout issues. Gary had a 30 minute chit chat with the league commissioner and the entire contents of that conversation are included in the article.
CBC: 30 Thoughts – Season of growing discontent. Always an excellent/informative read, although this week it is understandably down to 20 instead of 30 thoughts. Looks like Jets defenceman Ron Hainsey got a bit heated with the commissioner.
Globe and Mail: NHL talks resume, but optimism doesn’t. After reading Eric Duhatschek’s column this past weekend which used 2 months as a deadline for how much longer this lockout could stretch before the season is cancelled, I think the reason for a lack of optimism is justified.
Philadelphia Daily News: Snider’s statement. Snider reaffirms his hawk status as he disavows the story that was reported earlier this weekend.
New York Times: Week later, more talks, and perhaps some shifting. We are to be optimistic that they managed to agree to a meeting but can they actually agree to the issues that face both sides?
