Note: The Jets won a hockey game in 2026. This is not an April Fools’ joke. Winnipeg started quickly despite playing the second game of a back-to-back and never took their foot off the gas, building a 5–1 lead over Los Angeles through 40 minutes. That score held until the final buzzer, snapping an 11-game skid. Today, they are scheduled to hold an optional practice. Stay tuned for the media availability.
Note II: The Moose used Friday as a travel day going from Milwaukee to Rockford as they will look to get their road trip back on track after a tough start against the Admirals on Wednesday. Today, they will take on the IceHogs with puck drop coming at 7 PM CST.
Note III: While we don’t usually post about the ECHL affiliate Norfolk in the notes last night was notable for a couple of reasons. One of which was because Chase Yoder, who signed an AHL deal with Manitoba out of college this summer, scored four goals in the victory. While Jets prospect Jacob Julien (2023 5th) finally made his pro debut for the Admirals after a long road to full health. And it looks like he had himself a good game.
Note IV: To start our prospect news we begin in the OHL where the day started with news that Kieron Walton (2024 6th), who is the second-leading scorer in the league, was moved from Sudbury to Peterborough. In Friday night action a pair of prospects faced off with Kevin He (2024 4th) picking up 1G 1A (as well as 1st Star honours) vs Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) who had a beauty shorthanded breakaway goal late in the game.
Note V: We’ve got two hours of Jets talk coming your way starting at 9 AM CST as we discuss the state of the NHL club of Winnipeg. And we will not have to discuss another loss by the home team after they ended their 11-game winless streak with a big 5-1 win over the Kings. We reflect on this, look ahead to the game tomorrow against the Devils and more. Guests include Jesse Pollock of BarDown and Craig Button of TSN. Join us here.
