Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Detroit, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 8:10 PM CST.

Note III: The Moose will play host to the defending Calder Cup champion Canucks as they host their annual New Year’s Eve day game. Puck drop is at 4 PM CST.

Note IV: Jets prospect Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) with a second straight game as a contributor for Saginaw. He opened the game with a goal going bardown and added two assists. Named 3rd Star for second straight game.

Note V: It will either be a really good morning or a really bad one for Mark Scheifele as the Canadian Olympic team gets announced.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets need help, and need it now. That headline reminds me of the JG Wentworth jingle “I have a structured settlement and I need cash now”. The Jets also need something and I’m not sure JG is gonna be able to help them out.

Winnipeg Free Press: Lack of secondary scoring Jets’ biggest problem, says legendary coach. (Paywall). Not sure you have to be a legendary coach to come up with that assessment. Snark aside Mike caught up with former NHL bench boss Bruce Boudreau to discuss what’s wrong in Winnipeg.

The Athletic Winnipeg: How the Jets can save their season (and when you’ll know if they’ve failed). (Paywall). Murat offers you “more cowbell” and a host of other thoughts he’s mulled over as this season has gone anything but picture perfect.
