Note: The Jets were in Utah on Sunday looking to try to salvage something on a road trip which saw them lose both games against Central division opponents. With the visitors down 3-0 early in the 2nd it appears they’d head into the Christmas break on quite the slide. But they recovered courtesy of back-to-back goals from Kyle Connor (including his 300th in the NHL) and a Morgan Barron one 25 seconds later to at least send it to extra time. But 13 seconds into OT it was over and Winnipeg heads into the Christmas break having won just six times in their last 23 games.
Note II: The Moose on the other hand had a much better day yesterday as they concluded their pre-Christmas schedule with a re-match against the IceHogs. Although it began with a goal just 23 seconds into the game (similar to how they began the day prior) they were able to overcome this deficit and rolled to a big 4-1 win. They sit tied for 2nd in the Central division. They won’t play again until New Year’s Eve.
