Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets appear to have hit rock bottom dropping a 5-1 contest to the Sabres where they looked apathetic and disinterested. Kudos to Buffalo who were fresh off a big win over the red-hot Wild. They are off today and will conclude the road trip tomorrow in Montreal.

Note II: The Moose were off on Monday and will travel today to Chicago (where else) to face their bitter rival for the fifth time in seven games.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets ’embarrassed’ and ‘disconnected’ in loss to Sabres. Folks had plenty of adjectives on last night’s IC Post-Game Show to describe the play of the Jets yesterday. The above two would definitely be appropriate.

Winnipeg Free Press: Hapless Jets dismantled by Sabres. (Paywall). Mike was inside KeyBank Center and gives you his observations.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ struggles weigh heavy on captain’s shoulders. (Paywall). And Mike had this one-on-one with Adam Lowry BEFORE they lost to the cellar-dweller Sabres.

Global News: Norris shines in return as Sabres humiliate Jets. Christian and Russ combine for this game recap.

Sportsnet: Jets hold closed-door players meeting after drubbing by Sabres. That is a bare minimum response. The true test will be how they play on Wednesday against Montreal.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Behind the one trend that defines the Winnipeg Jets’ season so far. (Paywall). This was in yesterday’s papers but worth reading if you missed it.

Jets video:

TSN: How can the Winnipeg Jets stay in hunt without Connor HellebuyckConnor Hellebuyck is currently out 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Since Hellebuyck has been out, Winnipeg has just two wins in the last six games, including a four-game losing streak. Without their superstar goalie between the pipes, can the Jets stay in the hunt? TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado shares his thoughts.
