Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets are riding a five-game win streak after defeating the Flames in Calgary on Monday. They took Tuesday off but will be back on the ice today for practice at 11 AM CDT at hockey for all centre. Stay tuned for the Practice Report.

Note II: Head coach Scott Arniel indicated in his media availability on Monday in Calgary that this was the second day for 91 on the ice. Arniel said Perfetti was ahead of schedule and projected a mid November return although based on how the second line winger was skating yesterday it seems hard to believe it will take him that long to return to the lineup.

Note III: The Moose practiced for the last couple of days in Winnipeg and will take off today for Grand Rapids as they resume their six straight games on the road. Today is a travel day.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets defenceman Dylan DeMelo happy to make Winnipeg his year-round home. (Paywall). Perfect example of a player seeing Manitoba as home and not just a place they play hockey for eight (or more) months a year.

The Athletic Winnipeg: The Central Division is the toughest in the NHL. Here’s how Winnipeg can win it. (Paywall). No question that it is an absolute slog of a division and Murat has a road map to success for the NHL club of Winnipeg.

Global News: Toews starting to feel comfortable playing with Jets. Given I expected it to take longer that will only benefit both the player and team.

NHL Network: Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor are off to hot starts to the season for Winnipeg. Former NHLers Mike Rupp and Cory Schneider share their thoughts.
