Note: The Jets were off on Monday but there was still team news as we learned that both players (Ville Heinola & Walker Duehr) placed on waivers on Sunday had both cleared. Good for the organization to retain their depth. Now the question is what will be the final move (or moves) to ensure roster compliance? They had to submit their 23-man roster by 4 PM CDT yesterday and we should know it today. The team is set to skate today at 11 AM CDT so stay tuned for the first regular season Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose were on the ice yesterday for a skate before taking part in the final warm-up game of the preseason taking on the UofM Bisons. The team is off today.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Clearing waivers might be best for defenceman Heinola’s development, club. (Paywall). I said yesterday I think this could be the best way for him to reset his career.
The Athletic: Anonymous panel of coaches and goalies rates every starter. (Paywall). One goalie coach said of Connor Hellebuyck “It’s bizarre how well he reads the game”.
