Note: The Jets skated in Winnipeg before heading to Calgary for the final preseason game of training camp. While they came back to win in a shootout it was a costly game as Dylan DeMelo left after getting a stick to the throat in the 1st (coach said it was precautionary) and then lost Cole Perfetti at the end of the 2nd which sounded more significant. They are off today.
Note II: The Moose did their production day on Friday (stay tuned for some good chats on the IC YouTube channel here) and they are back on the ice today out at hockey for all centre.
Note III: Jets prospects have been back in action for a little while and I finally got caught up with a few playing on Friday night. The relentless Kevin He (2024 6th) scored his second goal of the season finishing off a sweet dish while Edison Engle got his first OHL goal which made him look more like a forward than defenceman.
Note IV: The Jets are winding down training camp as the regular season is on the horizon with the first game between Winnipeg and Dallas. We will reflect on the final preseason game against the Flames, discuss the remaining training camp battles, take a look at the potential final roster and more. Join us here.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Book closes on Jets training camp. (Paywall). Almost closes. I am a stickler and for me training camp concludes on Monday when the Jets have to submit their 23-man roster. But semantics aside Mike wrote about the pecking order.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets forward Parker Ford strongly stating his case. If folks will recall the Rhode Island product was seen as a strong 13th forward candidate two training camps ago. Will his waiver status impact the decision to keep him up and potentially mean you put a guy like David Gustafsson on waivers!
Winnipeg Sun: It’s all about the right numbers for Jets forward Cole Perfetti. Being a top six forward isn’t easy and comes with lots of lessons but he has more than risen to the occasion.
Sportsnet: What does Jonathan Toews have left? They get you set with their season preview.
Global News: Jets coach Arniel has earned respect of players, fans. This time last year there were many folks doubting Arniel and a year later he added a Presidents’ Trophy to his resume. What will his sophomore season bring?

The Athletic Winnipeg: The Jets are going to struggle. Don’t count them out when they do. (Paywall). Murat being the voice of reason before puck has even dropped.
