Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: After a quiet little Sunday expect a busy Monday. It is the final day to send qualifying offers to RFAs (must be received by 4 PM CDT), it’s the start of the Jets Development Camp (roster here and schedule here) which begins on the ice tomorrow and runs until Friday and then Tuesday is Free Agency and we will learn (if we don’t sooner) if Nikolaj Ehlers is gonna stay or go. We will have all of the media avails with the prospects on our YouTube channel as well as on this site later this afternoon.

Note II: If you missed anything from the Jets Draft weekend we’ve got you covered.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets set for free agency opening with questions to answer. (Paywall). As indicated above the topic of 27 will finally come to a resolution one way or the other very soon. (Not sure it was coincidental that the photo I randomly chose below happened to be one where he scored against Carolina). Wieber goes over the other areas Winnipeg will be looking to fill via free agency and then ends his column with some players on the radar.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets fill prospect pool from local waters. (Paywall). Adding some Manitoba to the mix is something this organization hasn’t done a ton of but they bucked that trend this past weekend.

MJHL: Nighthawks’ Pambrun to guest coach at Jets Development Camp. It isn’t just players who sometimes get invited to development camps to showcase what they’ve got.

Jets video/audio:

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Saturday Podcast. We took Illegal Curve into overtime on Saturday covering all things Winnipeg Jets. Talked Draft, Free Agency and more. Includes a good chat with first rounder Sascha Boumedienne.
