Note: It is finally here. The NHL Draft which kicks off the best weekend of the NHL season starting at 6 PM CDT. Winnipeg is scheduled to select 28th overall. Note III: The big news on Thursday, which wasn’t really a huge surprise but notable nonetheless, is that Nikolaj Ehlers has informed the Jets he will test the free agent market on July 1st.
Note IV: We also found out yesterday that instead of heading west the Jets prospects will be going out east in mid September as they trade the Young Stars Classic for the Prospects Showdown.

It’s gonna be a different sort of feeling this year as the broadcasts won’t be panning to team tables with the Draft being decentralized. Going to be fascinating to watch it this year and see the way it differs. We heard from Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff about how his group are adjusting to it.
