Note: While signing season in the NHL is still a ways away players who are heading overseas are getting things in order. We had heard rumblings that Winnipegger Chris Driedger, who the Jets acquired from the Panthers at the trade deadline, would be heading to the KHL. That was confirmed yesterday when Traktor put out that they had inked him to a one-year deal.
Note II: With the Panthers winning Game 6 last night in Sunrise it means that former Jet Nate Schmidt is a Stanley Cup champion. I’m sure Jets fans were happy to see the Minnesotan win his first Cup. What say you? It also means former Jets coaches Paul Maurice and Jamie Kompon have their second as does former Dman Dmitry Kulikov.
