Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: If you’d like some good draft insight be sure to check out yesterday’s IC Hockey Show (link below) as TSN analyst Craig Button gave us plenty of insight on players who could be available when Winnipeg selects 28th overall.

Note II: The Jets got their first offseason signing done on Saturday as they inked 2024 2nd rounder Alfons Freij to a three-year ELC.

Jets news:

The Athletic: NHL free agency 2025: One player each team should target this offseason. (Paywall). Murat puts Andrew Mangiapane as his UFA target for the Jets. Of course I like the “manga mang manga” opportunity it would provide in addition to a pretty decent player. Worth noting Nikolaj Ehlers is written as a target by five of his colleagues for other NHL clubs.

TSN: Did Hellebuyck deserve Hart over DraisaitlBryan Hayes, Jamie McLennan and Jonas Siegel are joined by TSN Hockey analyst Mike Johnson to discuss whether or not Connor Hellebuyck should’ve won the Hart Trophy over other skaters in the league and why this year a goalie winning the MVP was understandable.

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Saturday PodcastWhile folks await resolution of the Nikolaj Ehlers situation there was a first in Jets franchise history as Connor Hellebuyck became the first ever Winnipeg player to take home the Hart Trophy.
