Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: There has been a picture circulating the internet purporting to show Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck alongside the Vezina Trophy and the Hart Trophy. While I’ve seen the image, I cannot confirm it’s authentic. Although I would say if it turns out to be true it really makes you question who from the NHL thought it would be a good idea to take a photo like that in public.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Hart for Hellebuyck heard through the grapevine? (Paywall). Mike wrote about the potential news about Connor Hellebuyck which we reference above. He also touched on Arniel finishing as runner-up for Jack Adams Award and Dmitry Rashevsky appearing to stay in Russia.

Winnipeg Free Press: From Whiteout to down and out. (Paywall). Mike had a chance to catch up with Jets co-owner Mark Chipman to discuss some of the charity work being done by his organization. The pair also discussed the NHL club of Winnipeg.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets mailbag, Part 2: Landing a second-line centre, Dmitri Rashevsky’s potential and more. (Paywall). You had so many questions and Murat’s answers are so in-depth it required a part deux to his mailbag. Check it out here as he wrote about: 1) Second line centre. 2) Potential addition of 2021 5th rounder Dmitry Rashevsky. 3) Youth ready to take a step. 4) Eliminating modified no movement clauses. 5) Which prospect in draft excites him most.

Global News: Extending Morgan Barron should rank high on Jets’ off-season to-do list. Kelly makes the case for the Jets to get the rugged Halifax product under contract. We know from our chat with him on Saturday that there isn’t anything yet to report but this deal should get done without issue.
