Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: ‘It’s haunting’: Jets’ Appleton still playing the what-if game. While it was a tough miss he isn’t wrong in the sense that there was still plenty of time left in the game after his miss where something could have happened to change the nature of the game.
Winnipeg Sun: ‘Didn’t even seem real’: Jets relive emotional final day in Dallas. While the word “surreal” is thrown around loosely that would certainly have been an instance where it applied.

Winnipeg Sun: ‘I love it here’: Uncertainty swirls around Jets’ pending free agents. While it was certainly a disappointing conclusion to the post-season this team has more success during the regular season than any other hockey club and that’s not insignificant.
Winnipeg Sun: Cracked ribs, broken heart mark Schenn’s first two months with Jets. It’s why hockey players are often regarded as warriors for some of the things they play through.
Winnipeg Sun: Morrissey’s triple-whammy: D-man would’ve been done even if Jets had won. Not sure the Jets would have had enough depth, if they had somehow slipped past the Stars, would have been able to shut down the Oilers without 44 in the lineup.
Winnipeg Free Press: Tight-knit Jets reflect on unified locker room in support of Scheifele. (Paywall). Evokes the famous quote from Dustin Byfgulien “as long as we stick together we’ll be fine” although in this instance it reminds you of a team united behind a teammate.
Winnipeg Free Press: Unrestricted free agents Appleton, Fleury interested in sticking with Jets. (Paywall). One of those two names is likely gonna be back (hint: they are from Saskatchewan and play defence).
Winnipeg Free Press: Going home early stings, but Jets took incredible step forward. (Paywall). Hard to not sell yourself on the belief that they can still improve upon what they accomplished this season.
The Athletic Winnipeg: The Jets deserve praise, but must keep pushing forward this offseason. (Paywall). Just because they reached the base of the mountain doesn’t mean they’ve done anything yet. The hard work is gonna be even more significant as they look to build on what they did this past season and then get to that next level in the playoffs.
Global News: Jets will grow stronger after emotionally challenging end to season: Hellebuyck. It is going to be fascinating to see how this team looks when they play their first regular season game in five months.
Jets video:
Sportsnet: Friedman talks Winnipeg Jets UFA/RFAs as well as a thought about Kyle Connor. The NHL insider shared some thoughts last night about Samberg, Vilardi, Ehlers as well as Connor.
TSN: What changes can the Winnipeg Jets make to improve next year? The Jets made it one round further than their previous two playoff appearances but still fell short of their ultimate goal. What changes can they make to take another step next year? Martin Biron joined That’s Hockey to discuss.
