Jets news:

Global News: Big hits piling up as Winnipeg Jets, St. Louis Blues brace for Game 3. The physicality in this series has been very noticeable and not just to the average Joes. Even pros I’ve spoken with have been impressed by it.

Winnipeg Sun: Playoff clash a full-circle moment for Jets’ Arniel, Blues’ Montgomery. Hockey world is a small one.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ Stanley turning lightning into thunder against Blues. He has certainly been a lightning rod but the coaching staff had him play 63 games (most of his career) so they could see what they had and if he’d been what they needed in the post-season. Of course a big test will be coming in game 3 when the Jets no longer have last change.

Winnipeg Sun: NHL to address pre-game mind games: Jets’ Arniel. Probably best to leave 55 alone given how he’s performed through two games.

NHL.com: Arniel proving ‘he was the right guy’ to lead Jets as coach. He may not be a favourite for Jack Adams but he certainly took a pretty good hockey team and made them excellent.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets not concerned about days off between upcoming games. (Paywall). This team will handle the time off the way they’ve managed the schedule all season long.

Winnipeg Free Press: Coaching connection: Mutual admiration for Arniel, Montgomery dates back to Manitoba days. (Paywall). The AHL is where may lifelong connections are made.

Winnipeg Free Press: Hofer antics irk Arniel. (Paywall). He may want to try out Tyler Seguin’s Paper, Rock, Scissors.

The Athletic Winnipeg: As Jets extend series lead, Kyle Connor continues to be a problem the Blues can’t solve. (Paywall). He and 55 are looking like X factors which has to be worrying for the Blues tasked with stopping them.

Sportsnet: Connor Hellebuyck changing games with key saves. He didn’t have to make a lot of stops but he was effective when he did.

Jets video:

Sportsnet: How Jets’ cohesiveness is leading to early playoff success. Sean Reynolds joined Kyper and Bourne to discuss how the rest of the NHL is realizing the Winnipeg Jets are more than just their Vezina-winning goaltender, Connor Hellebuyck.

Sportsnet: Why Scheifele is everything Jets need in a top playoff performer. Sean Reynolds joined Kyper and Bourne to discuss Winnipeg Jets’ Mark Scheifele and how he’s shown over the years that he is a top playoff performer and has been the catalyst for the Jets’ offensive production.

Sportsnet: Why Jets’ attention to detail could give them the edge over the Blues. Sean Reynolds joined Kyper and Bourne to discuss the Winnipeg Jets’ attention to small details and why it could be what gives them an edge over the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

TSN: Are the Jets proving they’re a different playoff team? Despite winning the Presidents’ Trophy, the Winnipeg Jets were still not being given the respect of a true Stanley Cup contender. Now, they’re the first team to reach two wins this playoffs. Are they proving to be a different team this year than in year’s past? TSN Hockey analyst Cheryl Pounder joined Gino Reda on That’s Hockey to discuss.

TSN: ‘Super Scheifele’ continues dominance in Game 2 to give Jets 2-0 series lead. Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor have both combined for nine points through the first two games of the Jets’ series against the Blues with Connor also scoring the game-winner in both games. TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joined SC with Jay Onrait to discuss Scheifele and Connor leading the way in the Jets first two playoff games and the Jets series against the Blues being very physical through two games.
