Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets and Oilers did battle last night in the second last game of the season for Winnipeg which saw them lose the game 4-1. However, before that game had even ended they knew they had won the Presidents’ Trophy by virtue of the fact that the Capitals had lost which meant it was coming to Manitoba for the first time ever (In 1.0 or 2.0 history). The bigger concern was defenceman Dylan Samberg who left the game and did not return. After the final buzzer head coach Scott Arniel said he thinks Samberg will be OK which isn’t insignificant given his importance to the team. They are off today.

Note II: The Moose have two final practices in Winnipeg before they head to Texas on Wednesday for the final two games of the regular season including one this morning. Stay tuned for the Practice Report.

Note III:  We did learn on Sunday that Jets winger Gabriel Vilardi hadn’t yet been on the ice as he continues to work his way back to the lineup. We shall have to see if that changes this week because if it doesn’t you have to wonder about his playoff availability in the first round.

Note IV: Today is your last day to enter to win a CCM Jetspeed FT7 Pro stick which we giving away to one of our followers. Entry details here and here. And you have to be a subscriber to the YouTube channel which you can do here.
