Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets just keep winning as they went into Ottawa, against a reduced Senators roster to be fair, and picked up their 11th straight victory defeating the home team 4-1. No time for rest however as they are in Nashville today where they will take on the Predators for the second time this season on the second game of a back-to-back. No morning skate as they played last night but be sure to stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Nashville, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CST.

Note III: The AHL club of Manitoba was also in southern Ontario doing battle against a team named the Senators as they went up against the baby Sens last night as they looked to keep the positive vibes alive on the road after a comeback win in OT against the Marlies earlier in the week. That theme continued as they forced OT late in the game and then for the second straight game it was captain Dominic Toninato who won the game for his club in overtime. Be sure to check the full game recap here. They are scheduled to practice for tomorrow’s re-match in Belleville.

Note IV: Prospect Brayden Yager (2023 1st) with his 24th goal of the season which tied the game for Lethbridge in the 3rd. He’s got 24G 48A for 72 points in 46 games.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets sloppy and ugly, but still winners in Ottawa. It wasn’t all ugly in my mind. The pass to Perfetti and his deflection were very nice as was the deceptive pass by Gabriel Vilardi to Kyle Connor on the third goal. But Paul shares his insights from last night’s game.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets win ugly in nation’s capital. (Paywall). While it was no Picasso the bottom line was two more points were added to the standings bank. Mike gives you his report from Ottawa.

Winnipeg Free Press: Morrissey’s calm assist earns grateful mom’s first-star award. (Paywall). No surprise that he would be classy in that manner.

Global News: Jets extend win streak to 11 games with 4-1 triumph in Ottawa. Another game recap.

Sportsnet: Hellebuyck and scoring depth powers Jets to 11th straight win. The Hockey Central panel breaks down the Winnipeg Jets’ 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators, discussing how the team’s balanced scoring attack and Connor Hellebuyck’s steady play led to a franchise record 11th straight win.

TSN: Perfetti a key factor during Jets’ 11-game win streak. What has been the key to the Jets’ franchise-record 11-game winning streak? How much will Connor Hellebuyck play down the stretch? Should the Senators be upset that Brady Tkachuk got injured at the 4 Nations Face-Off? TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SportsCentre to share his thoughts.
