Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets minus the 4 Nations guys (37, 81 & 44) are scheduled to hit the ice today for their first practice after the break. We expect to see captain Adam Lowry who skated with his teammates yesterday at an optional. The team recalled goalie Kaapo Kahkonen from the Moose as a practice player (as allowed under NHL 4 Nations Face-Off rules) which will give them two goalies for practice this week. Skate gets underway at hockey for all centre at 11 AM CST. Check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose, sans Kaapo Kahkonen, are in Laval where they will kick off a six-game road trip against former head coach Pascal Vincent and his top ranked Rocket club. They did recall goalie Thomas Milic as well as forward Ryan Chyzowski from Norfolk of the ECHL. It seems unlikely they’ve got Chaz Lucius (medical condition) or Parker Ford (inj) so we shall see what adjustments the team makes. Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.

The Athletic Winnipeg: This Winnipeg Jets season is worth celebrating — whatever its final chapter holds. (Paywall). Given the cap increase and all the pending free agents I can understand the nature of the column.
