Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets remain on 4 Nations hiatus although we do expect some players back on the ice tomorrow as the team holds an optional practice in Winnipeg. Over in Boston both Josh Morrissey (Canada) and Kyle Connor/Connor Hellebuyck (USA) will be in action as they conclude the round robin games this evening. For the Americans they are already into the Final game on Wednesday night which likely means Hellebuyck gets the night off. Canada will look to knock off Finland to punch their ticket.

Note II: The Moose were in action on Sunday as they welcomed the Admirals to town for the first of two to conclude six straight at home. Things got off to a good start as they limited Milwaukee’s chances to start the game and it appeared that Parker Ford got things going as he cleaned up in front but the whistle had gone. Ford would get another kick at the can in the 2nd period on the PP where he deflected a point shot to make it a 1-0 game. With just ten seconds to go in the game Brad Lambert put the puck in front where Dylan Coghlan buried his 7th goal (in just 14 games) which was the game-winning goal as Manitoba would win it 2-1. That was their third win in their last four games. Re-match this afternoon at 2 PM as the Moose conclude six straight games at home.

Jets news:

ESPN: Is Connor Hellebuyck the best U.S. goalie of all time? Pretty crazy to think that headline is being written about a goalie that plays for Winnipeg and is signed long-term.

NHL.com: Hellebuyck’s brilliance continues at 4 Nations. If there were any questions as to whether number 37 could take his game to the next level those appear to be answered.
