Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets used Sunday as a travel day as they put Winnipeg behind them after two and a half weeks and eight-games in the city. Morning skate gets underway at 12:30 PM CST so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 8:30 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Utah, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 11:10 PM CST.

Note III: The problems for the Moose at home continued on Sunday afternoon as they fell to the Marlies 5-0. Even worse they lost Jets prospect Nikita Chibrikov (2021 2nd) to a lower-body injury which didn’t look good. There was no update post-game. They are off today.

Note IV: Second straight day for Jets 2023 1st rounder Colby Barlow with two points which gives him 1G 4A in three straight days of games (he’s on a seven game points streak). He’s at 22G 17A for 39 points in 41 games and if you erase the first 10 games (1G 2A) he’s at 36 points (21G 15A) in 31 games.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Points aren’t awarded for style or substance, just positive results. Gordon reflects further on the game against the Flames and the homestand overall.

Winnipeg Free Press: Winnipegger brought the house down with stirring renditions of national anthems. (Paywall). That’s a pretty amazing story of perseverance.

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Saturday Podcast. On the show this weekend we spent close to two hours discussing the NHL and AHL clubs of Winnipeg.
