Note: The Jets are home for a long stretch of time which was going to involve some practice days but for now the team is taking off a second straight day as they focus on rest. They are mired in a three-game losing streak (0-2-1) although perhaps some good news on Colin Miller, who left the game against the Wings and did not return after taking a puck to the throat, is that they didn’t make a recall from the AHL. Now it’s possible that Miller is good to go or it’s also possible Dylan Samberg, who has been in a non-contact uniform, is close to a return. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
Note II: The Moose had themselves a successful weekend in Cowtown as they fought back to earn a single point on Friday and then on Sunday broke open a 2-2 tie late in the game when the Jets prospect line got fired up with Chaz Lucius (2021 1st) finding Brad Lambert (2022 1st) who found Nikita Chibrikov (2021 2nd) who found the back of the net for the game-winning goal with 90 seconds left in regulation. They would go on to win it 3-2 to leave Alberta with three of four points. They’ll head to Milwaukee next as they play the Admirals on Wednesday.
Note III: In the OHL for the 18th straight game Jets prospect Keiron Walton picked up a point as he got his 40th assist of the season which is tops in his league for apples. Over in the WHL Brayden Yager (2023 1st) had a hat trick of assists to help Lethbridge comeback in their game with Edmonton.
