Note: A slow start and poor penalty killing hurt the Jets last night as the Red Wings were able to leave Winnipeg with a 4-2 win which pushed the home team’s losing slide to three games. They are off today.
Note II: The Moose practiced on Saturday after their comeback Friday night fell short in overtime. They have a re-match with the Wranglers tonight in Calgary. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.
Note III: Jets prospect Brayden Yager (2023 1st) is back with his junior club after Canada was eliminated from the World Juniors. Lethbridge lost last night but he did score his 13th of the season.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Discombobulated and out of whack, Jets lose third in a row, second at home. As cliche as it is hockey is a 60 minute game not 40.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets fall to Red Wings 4-2. (Paywall). Mike lets you know what he saw from inside CLC last night.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ defencemen really feel the pain of losing 4-2 to Red Wings. (Paywall). They were dropping like flies in last night’s game which isn’t ideal given there isn’t a ton of depth (any longer) to replace guys.
NHL.com: Raymond has goal, 2 assists to help Red Wings top Jets for 4th straight win. Darrin with a recap that provides quotes from the Wings and Jets.
Sportsnet: Colin Miller doesn’t return against Red Wings after taking puck to throat. It looked bad seeing him on his hands and knees in the tunnel but you hope for the best outcome and that it was more of a momentarily stunned situation rather than serious. We expect an update tomorrow.
The Detroit News: Red-hot Wings keep sizzling, defeating NHL-best Jets 4-2. Check out a recap from a writer that covers the Jets opponent.
