Note: The Jets had two points within their grasp but a miscue allowed the Duck to tie it up and then leave Manitoba with two points in their back pocket while the home team had to settle for one after the 4-3 OT loss. Today they will have an optional practice at 12 noon out at the hockey for all centre as they look to get back on track for tomorrow’s game against the Red Wings. Check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose are in Calgary where they will kick off the first of five games on the road this evening starting with the Wranglers. Puck drop is at 8 PM CST.
Note III: Captain Serious as Lieutenant Serious in Manitoba? Frank Seravalli listed the Jets as one of three teams to “keep an eye on” regarding potential Jonathan Toews comeback bid. What you think of the prospect of adding a three time Stanley Cup champ?
Note IV: Jets 2024 6th rounder Kieron Walton unloaded a bomb with this shot on the PP to open the scoring for Sudbury. He’s now in sole possession of 3rd spot in OHL points race with 59 (22G 37A) in 34 games.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Jets blow leads, drop overtime decision to Ducks. Winnipeg had a chance to do to the Ducks what they did to them back in Anaheim but it was to no avail as they allowed the game tying goal. Paul gives you his thoughts from inside CLC.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets mistakes costly in 4-3 loss to Ducks. (Paywall). While Anaheim has recently knocked off some very good competition there was a good chance for Winnipeg to blow things open in the middle frame and they didn’t. Add in some errors and you walk away with only a point.
NHL.com: Terry has 3 points, Ducks rally to defeat Jets in OT for 3rd straight win. Darrin gives you insight from both dressing rooms.
Global News: Terry’s OT winner propels Ducks past Winnipeg Jets 4-3. Christian breaks down the game in this recap.
Orange Country Register: Troy Terry’s OT goal helps Ducks stun Winnipeg again. (Paywall). I suspect head coach Scott Arniel is happy he doesn’t’ have to face Terry very often given he has both game-winning goals against his club this season. Check out this recap
