Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets played a pretty decent game last night in Colorado given it was their third contest in four days including having played the night before in Winnipeg. They got to the 3rd tied but the Avs were able to pick up a clean two points to close out 2024. They are off today.

Note II:  The Moose are in a tough spot right now as they played a better game in their annual New Year’s Eve contest but a few mistakes ended up in the back of their net and their inability to produce much offence (they scored one goal which was enough to win free pancakes for the 6500 in attendance). They are off today.

Note III: Jets 2024 6th rounder Kieron Walton closed out 2024 with a four point (2G 2A) night including the OT GWG for Sudbury. He is currently tied for 3rd in OHL points race. Just a remarkable season to date. Jets 2024 5th rounder Markus Loponen with two goals for Victoria as he was named 3rd Star of the Game. Missed this last night but Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis (2022 7th) closed out 2024 with a 36-save performance to improve to 11-2-0 with Norfolk.
