Note: The Jets travelled home from California after splitting the two games against the Sharks and Ducks. Despite taking two of four points there was a lot left to be cleaned up from games against two of the bottom feeders in the NHL. While the team was off we did learn that Dylan Coghlan cleared waivers. Winnipeg will have a chance to get things moving in the right direction with a practice today as they prepare for a massive divisional game against the Wild on Saturday. Check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose practiced on Thursday which saw the return of two players (Dominic Toninato & Tyrel Bauer) and then found out they would be getting a big boost as they were loaned Dylan Coghlan and Nikita Chibrikov from the parent club. With a big game against the IceHogs tonight in Winnipeg it will be a chance for this roster to arrest their slide and get back on track. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

Note III: We get caught up with a trio of Jets prospects from the past few days. I missed this one from Wednesday night as Jacob Julien (2023 5th) scored his third goal in the last four games and added an assist to help London pick up a win. Last night, fresh off signing his ELC with the Jets, Kevin He (2024 4th) picked up a goal and two assists in a Niagara victory. He’s tied for the third most goals in the entire OHL. And Brayden Yager (2023 1st), who was named captain of Canada for the World Juniors, got the scoring underway in a pre-tournament game against the Swiss.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Adjustments needed amid slip. In his latest notebook Jacob wrote about how the NHL club of Winnipeg is slipping and he suggest that some radical changes need to take place including breaking up the lines to help the team regain their mojo. He also wrote about the historic contract of Kevin He and Brayden Yager being named captain of Canada.

Winnipeg Free Press: Road trip illustrates Jets’ need to eliminate simple mistakes. (Paywall). Probably need to start with eliminating blind, no-look passes in their end and leaving the front of the net open. Can think of at least five goals that would have prevented.
