Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets looked like a team ready to put the tough part of the schedule behind them and start making some hay again as they demolished the Bruins last night by a final score of 8-1. Even the coaches got into it as the score grew and liberties were taken which resulted in some serious heat coming from the bench boss of Winnipeg at his Boston counterpart. While they’ll likely enjoy that result they’ll put it behind them and now they turn their focus to the Golden Knights who are in town tomorrow night. They’ll prepare with a practice today at Canada Life Centre which gets underway at 12 noon. Check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: Before the AHL club of Manitoba got underway last night we got an injury update on Jets prospect Elias Salomonsson. The Moose are probably hoping they won’t see Wranglers goalie Devin Cooley much more as he continues to dominate games when he faces Manitoba. He made 30 saves on 31 shots while his Calgary club scored six times on their way to a 6-1 win. About the only good news for Manitoba is they get a chance at a re-match with the Wranglers tonight in Calgary. Puck drop is at 8 PM CST.
