Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Site Update: We are migrating to a bigger, more dedicated server to handle increased demand so please bear with us over the next few days. I’ve been told that it shouldn’t impact the performance of illegalcurve.com but in case it does that is the reason and it should be sorted out in the next few days. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Note: The Jets were off on Sunday following a tough 4-1 loss to the Predators which was made even more hard to digest with the news that Dylan Samberg had suffered a broken foot and is out for the next while. With the Minnesotan being added to the IR the team recalled Ville Heinola from his conditioning stint in the AHL. To be clear that was all part of the plan all along and would have happened regardless of the Samberg situation. Speaking of the land of 10,000 lakes that is where the Jets find themselves today as they get set to take on the third overall Wild which are one of the biggest stories in the NHL this season. Morning skate gets underway at 11 AM CST so you can check out the pre-game report which will feature all the latest news. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Minnesota, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CST.

Note III: The Moose were also off on Sunday after a big 4-2 win over the Wolves to take two of three games from their long-time divisional rivals. They are staying off the ice as they will instead head to the Christmas Cheer Board to volunteer.

Note III: A few Jets prospects were in action on Sunday night and here is your rundown. In the OHL the hot hand of Kieron Walton (2024 6th) saw the tall winger score a power play goal (he’s now 10th in OHL points race) which was matched in that same game by Colby Barlow (2023 1st) who also had a power play marker to help his Oshawa team defeat Walton’s Sudbury club. While Jacob Julien (2023 5th) scored in the shootout to help his London squad pick up their 15th straight victory.

Winnipeg Free Press: Why are the Jets looking like Cup contenders? You folks had all sorts of Jets related questions which Mike and Ken attempted to answer in their latest mailbag.
