Note: The Jets were off on Sunday following their three-game road trip although there was some news as Neal Pionk got hit with a 5K fine for his clipping of Jesper Boqvist. Today they are back on the ice at hockey for all centre for practice as they prepare to conclude the home and home series with the Panthers which is their lone home game. Skate gets underway at 11 AM. Check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose were also off on Sunday following a road trip which saw them win two of their last three games. They are off today although they also got some news with the Jets announcing they had reassigned prospect Fabian Wagner (2022 6th) from his Swedish club to Manitoba.
Note III: Two assist game for Kieron Walton (Jets 2024 6th rounder) for Sudbury. Gives him 9G 18A for 27 points in 20 games this season which puts him 16th in OHL scoring race. He’s at 1.35 pts/g (up from 0.66 pts/g last season).
Note IV: The Bombers just couldn’t get it done in their fifth straight Grey Cup and you have to credit the Toronto Argonauts who were just the better team on Sunday. They take the 111th Grey Cup by a final score of 41-23.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets look to regroup in rematch with Panthers after pair of losses. While some folks think this is somehow the Jets coming back down to reality the truth is they went against a Bolts team that hadn’t won in four games, had six games off and were a step ahead. The Panthers had suffered two straight losses and were clearly ready for puck drop. Now the question is how will Winnipeg rebound!
Daily Faceoff: The Jets have always believed in Mark Scheifele – and it’s paying off. For 55 it’s about legacy and in order to do that he needed to change his game which is what we are seeing.
