Day 8 interviews: In case you missed anything from Thursday we spoke with Connor Hellebuyck (watch here), Morgan Barron (watch here) as well as head coach Scott Arniel (watch here).
Note: The eighth day of training camp was informative when it came to injury updates as head coach Scott Arniel advised that Logan Stanley is dealing with a tweak that they are evaluating, Ville Heinola had surgery with no timetable on his return and Dylan Samberg was nicked up against the Oilers but is expected to play tonight against the Wild.
Note II: Today is the fourth exhibition game for the Jets are they skate this morning in Winnipeg before taking off for St. Paul where they will face off against the Wild tonight. Game group is skating at 10 AM at hockey for all centre while the non-game group hits the ice at 11:45 AM. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT and a reminder the game is not on TSN. You can watch it on the Jets site as they are streaming the game.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Brad Lambert still in the running for Jets roster spot, Scott Arniel says. Folks were a smidge upset when he was in the smaller group on Thursday which is seen as the one most likely to get cut but the Jets bench boss explained his reasoning after skate concluded. There is still a possibility that he starts the season in the AHL and similar to what Kyle Connor experienced in his second pro season in Winnipeg it may not be too long before he is back in the NHL. But reality is there is still lots of training camp to go where that will get settled..
Winnipeg Sun: Connor Hellebuyck sticking to same script heading into new season. Hard to argue that he really needs to make any radical amendments given his performance leading to his second Vezina award.
